I don't sleep at night... no biggie.

If we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color, we would find some other cause for prejudice by noon. ~ George Aiken

Sad, but most likely true. People love to hate.

I'm Jess. I live in Charleston, WV. I am a nurse on a neurological floor. I mostly care for older people that have had strokes or have other problems with their noggins. Some seizures, head trauma and spinal surgery too. Lately it's also been the satellite psych ward. I work night shift, so it's even more fun since the real crazies come out at night.

The list

As I mentioned in my last post I made a list of all the things my friend was doing that were bugging me. Here it is…

1. He is possibly the most annoying gum-chewer EVER! He chewed a lot of gum on our trip.

2. He is apparently unable to see or hear something without making a comment or some kind of sound.

3. He is so noisy. Always making some kind of sound… even thirty seconds of total silence seemed to be impossible.

4. He says, “Right meow.” rather than “Right now.”

5. He will not let anything go, he goads and prods subjects to death, particularly ones I did not want to talk about.

6. He is annoyingly smiley, chipper, and nice.

Yes, it is possible for someone to be so nice they’re annoying.

7. He is much too goofy and childish. You’re 26, grow up!

8. He is too animated, especially facially.

9. He sings all the time!

10. His smile.

11. He did not respect my personal space. I’ve always had personal space issues, they’ve gotten better over the years, but you can only push them so much.

Yup, by the end of our trip even his smile bugged me.

It was a very real possibility that I could have killed him over all of these things. Sure, they’re by and large very trivial things, but when most of them are happening at once and he was the only person I really had contact with for a week, it got bad.
