I don't sleep at night... no biggie.

If we were to wake up some morning and find that everyone was the same race, creed and color, we would find some other cause for prejudice by noon. ~ George Aiken

Sad, but most likely true. People love to hate.

I'm Jess. I live in Charleston, WV. I am a nurse on a neurological floor. I mostly care for older people that have had strokes or have other problems with their noggins. Some seizures, head trauma and spinal surgery too. Lately it's also been the satellite psych ward. I work night shift, so it's even more fun since the real crazies come out at night.

Barista

I’ve been working as a nurse for about 6 months. I enjoy it, but my social circle is rather limited. Most of my coworkers are older, married, and/or have kids. Pretty much the only other people I talk to are patients. Before becoming a nurse I was a barista in a cafe on campus at my college. I made several really good friends while working there and I really miss the free caffeine also.

In the past few days I’ve been thinking about picking up a second job as a barista. It really started when I went into a cute little bookstore with a cafe in downtown Charleston. I think it would be a good way to get out of the house on my days off since at the moment all I do is sit around and watch movies. Occasionally I clean or cook or play with the dogs, but mostly I just abuse my Netflix instant account. I also sometimes go shopping, I keep getting more clothes that I never wear. Pretty much all my laundry lately is t-shirts, pj pants, hoodies and scrubs. Yeah, I need to get out more… in the real world where I have to wear real clothes.
