Sad, but most likely true. People love to hate.

I'm Jess. I live in Charleston, WV. I am a nurse on a neurological floor. I mostly care for older people that have had strokes or have other problems with their noggins. Some seizures, head trauma and spinal surgery too. Lately it's also been the satellite psych ward. I work night shift, so it's even more fun since the real crazies come out at night.

Two little words, but they really do make a difference to me. As a nurse it is my job to keep you comfortable (through medication or other means), take care of your basic needs, clean up your ass if needed, etc., but that does not mean you can order me to do any of those things. I enjoy caring for my patients and helping them in any way that I can, but I do not enjoy doing so when they treat me like a servant and don’t seem to appreciate me. Believe me, it is not my idea of fun to clean up your stinky ass because you are just too lazy to get out of bed to use the bathroom or call for a bedpan. Accidents happen, but some people are just lazy and unappreciative. Ask nicely (aka, use the word “please”), don’t be a sloth, and I will be more than happy to help you out with almost anything.
