It’s funny how much certain media or literature you identify with when you go through heartbreak. You hear a song and think, “That’s exactly how I feel. Someone else has been this too.”
This past summer, that was me. Totally hung up on a relationship that never really got off the ground and identifying with all those whiny songs. But this old BNL song came on my iPod and it might be the one that hit the closest to home. Particularly the line, “Mistaking lust for love.” And the whole verse, “Everyone knows the deal fell through. I was hoping I could just blame you. When was it that I became so soft?” “Deflated and jaded. I hate it when you call (which isn’t at all).”
Thanks BNL, that was fun.
Side note: I never posted any of these lyrics or songs on my Facebook in attempt to get my lost love’s (lust’s) attention in a thinly veiled, vague manner. I find it to be seriously annoying and frustrating when other people do that.
